OHRS Provincial Sector Codes

Executive Summary

OHRS Provincial Sector Codes lists the OHRS (Ontario Healthcare Reporting Standards) provincial sector codes held in the system and is the place where the full set of OHRS reference data is loaded. Administrators import the ACI OHRS Master Template workbook with Import Accounts; a single import brings in the provincial sector codes, functional centres, functional centre extensions, statistical accounts, statistical account extensions, and the links between functional centres and statistical accounts. The grid itself is a read-only list of the provincial sector codes.

Key Features

  • View the list of provincial sector codes and their descriptions
  • Import the OHRS Master Template workbook to add or refresh all OHRS reference data in one step
  • Validation of the workbook (version, sheet names, and column headings) before any data is read
  • Progress panel showing the sheet and row being processed, with a warning for each row that could not be loaded

Typical Workflow

  1. Click Import Accounts.
  2. Select the workbook (.xlsx or .xls). The dialog states which version of the ACI OHRS Master Template workbook the system expects (v2026.01.17).
  3. Click Process.
  4. Watch the progress panel. When it finishes, "Import Finished" is shown and the list of codes refreshes.

Processing Overviews

This section describes what happens after you confirm a processing action.

Process (Import Accounts)

  1. The Import Accounts dialog closes and an "Importing File" progress panel opens.
  2. The workbook is opened. If it cannot be read, "Error loading file" is shown with the reason and the import stops.
  3. The first sheet must be named Version and cell B4 must read 2026.01.17; otherwise a message names the problem (for example "Version '2026.01.17' expected but is ...", or "The file version could not be determined" when cell B4 cannot be read) and the import stops.
  4. Each remaining sheet is checked in turn for its name, column count, and column headings. A problem stops the import with a message; sheets already loaded before the problem stay loaded.
  5. ProvincialSectorCodes: each row with a code and a description is added, or updates the description when the code already exists. Rows missing either value are skipped.
  6. FunctionalCentres, FunctionalCentreExtensions, StatisticalAccounts, StatisticalAccountExtensions, and FunctionalCentreStatisticalAcct: for each row, any existing record with the same code (or the same pair of codes) is deleted and the row from the workbook is added in its place. The Chapter10Page column is not loaded.
  7. A row that cannot be saved shows "Invalid Data in row N" and the import continues with the next row.
  8. At the end "Import Finished" is shown and the list of provincial sector codes is reloaded.
